Their undoing was knowing that the sun would kiss them until they were stained gold, their roots already too deep into the sandy soil, exhausted and resigned they settled to gather along the the sand banks of one of the loneliest and loveliest beaches in the world, KareKare, Piha’s neighboring beach.
